Mylene and Joshua’s elopement in Big Sur was absolutely beautiful and such a joy to be a part of. I’m so glad that these two came into my life on a whim a few years ago and it led to this magic!

Mylene and Joshua’s Big Sur Elopement

I originally met Mylene and Joshua in 2019 on my first trip to California. They live by Big Sur and had taken a day trip to sea lion beach. I always love connecting with cute couples on my travels, so I approached them and took a few shots of them together on the beach. Although they had only been together a few months at that point, we stayed connected and when I saw that they got engaged, I was so excited! They reached out and asked me to come to California to celebrate with them and of course, I said yes!

Where to Elope in California

There are so many beautiful places to elope in California, but Big Sur is definitely my favorite. I even wrote a whole guide on how to elope there! I was so excited to head back out to the west coast with Mylene and Joshua for their elopement. We chose a spot not too far from their house with stunning views of the water and local geography. After a short walk over some rocky terrain that overlooked the water, we found the perfect spot for them to exchange their vows. These two are so in love, and their vows were absolutely beautiful. They are truly soulmates, and it was an honor to be a part of this unity.

After the ceremony, we headed down to the beach where they took off their shoes and dipped their toes in the water. We laid down a blanket and pulled out a bottle of wine, which they drank as they watched the sun start to set. As someone who grew up on the East Coast, it always amazes me to watch the sun set behind the cliffs on the west coast instead of behind the water. There’s something magical about being on the opposite side of the continent with people who make you feel at home.
