We watched the sunrise over the Washington monument and then it was time to start our session! I snapped photos as Kayla and Colin strolled along the basin, giggling and sharing kisses. Colin twirled Kayla underneath the blossoms and pulled her in for a sweet kiss, and guys I don’t know if I’ve ever seen something so magical!
What does your life’s adventure look like? My favorite thing to do is incorporate locations or activities that help to tell the story of where you are at on your journey. What can I help you to look back on and enjoy and embrace. No matter where you are or what journey your about to embark on, it’s worth remembering.
Adventure sessions are so much more than a photo session. You get to explore a new or old epic location with me as your guide. We’ll see the sights, experience the area, and have time to document the whole thing.
Perfect for a short vow renewal, day after wedding photos, or a couples session. Adventure sessions can be 2-4 hours depending on the location(s) and typically involve hiking, exploring, and some kind of fun adventure. It should definitely include the activities that you love, whether that’s lazing around in some hammocks, eating a board of charcuterie, or something more active like rock climbing, long boarding, or kayaking! No matter what it looks like it should feel like the best adventure yet!
When I asked Julie and Gabe where they wanted to do their engagement session, they asked me if I would be willing to travel to the location where they had their first date, and of course my answer was yes! This location is sentimental to them for so many reasons and is just 3 miles from their house. They love biking and going for walks at this park, so it was the perfect spot to capture the essence of their relationship!
We spent so much time explore the conservatory and just enjoyed our time together surrounded by all the beautiful plant life. Then we headed outdoors for some final photos with their chocolate lab puppy. We shot until the sun was gone and got some dreamy artistic blue hour photos to end their session with.
Who says you can only have one engagement session?! These two fell in love with the location and wanted more photos for their house, so they figured why not book another session before their big day! There is no right or wrong way to do your engagement session. Many couples end up having both proposal photos and engagement session photos, or multiple engagement session photos in order to make sure they have plenty of practice for the wedding day!
"We cried when we saw the photos for the first time. The pictures are everything we were hoping for and more! The experience was so fun and we are beyond ecstatic that Cara was able to capture so many meaningful moments for us."
