Michelle and Nate stopped at Starbucks and met me at the Calvert’s cliff trailhead on this gorgeous overcast afternoon. Their adventure session started with a 2 mile hike into the wetlands of Maryland. We hiked through streams that turned into wetlands and even took a little detour into the woods when the water levels got too high. When we finally made it to the end of the trail we were rewarded with gorgeous beach views that were abruptly stopped as they were met by a tall cliff. This area on the peninsula of the Chesapeake Bay is known for its fossils that are washed up on the shore.
Michelle and Nate had so much fun running on the beach, exploring the land and looking for fossils, and even spotted an otter in the bay! They ended the trip with a picnic on the beach before heading back to the trail. This was the perfect start to so many more adventure sessions to come!
If you are wondering, what is an adventure session? I’m so excited to be offering this new type of session and here is why. Adventure sessions are so much more than a photo session. You get to explore a new or old epic location with me as your guide. We’ll see the sights, experience the area, and have time to document the whole thing.
Perfect for a short vow renewal, day after wedding photos, or a couples session. Adventure sessions can be 2-4 hours depending on the location(s) and typically involve hiking, exploring, and some kind of fun adventure. It should definitely include the activities that you love, whether that’s lazing around in some hammocks, eating a board of charcuterie, or something more active like rock climbing, long boarding, or kayaking! No matter what it looks like it should feel like the best adventure yet!
