Margo and Ryan’s relaxed coastal wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club was a celebration that perfectly blended laid-back Eastern Shore charm with heartfelt moments, colorful style, and the kind of joy that only comes from being surrounded by your favorite people by the water. I loved this waterfront celebration, and I’m excited to share it with you!
When you picture a Maryland wedding on the water, you might imagine golden light glinting off the Bay, sailboats in the distance, and that easygoing “we’ve got all the time in the world” energy, and Margo and Ryan’s wedding was all of that and more. It was timeless and elevated, without being too serious, and filled with moments that felt genuine and meaningful.
These two have a story that’s been in motion for years. They met abroad when mutual friends introduced them in Barcelona, and from there it was long-distance dates, cross-country moves, and a whole lot of FaceTime.
Eventually they landed in Hoboken and built a life together. Ryan proposed at Long Beach Island, one of their favorite places, surprising Margo with twenty-five of their closest friends and even flying her sister in. It was a “yes” moment that perfectly captured who they are: thoughtful, surrounded by people they love, and always up for celebrating.
Choosing a wedding venue felt like an extension of their story, relaxed coastal living with plenty of heart. The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club sits just across the Bay Bridge, making it an easy getaway from Baltimore or D.C., but with the charm of a true destination. Waterfront terraces, gardens, and an on-site inn provide couples with everything they need for a complete weekend experience.
The venue is known for its West-facing views, which means sunset is practically built into the timeline! Every space, from the airy ballrooms to the patios lined with string lights, has that balance of classic architecture and modern polish. It’s perfect for couples who want elegance without the fuss, and it photographs beautifully.
Weddings on Maryland’s Eastern Shore feel slower, in the best way. Guests arrive and immediately slip into vacation mode.
The water is close enough to feel like part of the celebration, and the views stretch endlessly. You can hear laughter carry across the lawns, cocktails clinking as boats drift by. It’s the kind of setting that invites connection, which is exactly what Margo and Ryan wanted.
Their day wasn’t about checking boxes or staging perfection. It was about genuine joy, catching up with people who had watched their relationship evolve from a chance meeting overseas to building a home together.
The couple’s vision leaned toward letting the coastal magic unfold naturally, focusing instead on simple, clean aesthetics. Inside the Beach Club, candlelight and soft linens added just enough formality without taking away the laid-back mood. The decor was full of intentional details that reflected who they are.
From a quiet first look at The Inn, to a heartfelt ceremony overlooking the water, everything unfolded organically. There were quiet moments, like the two of them standing by the dock watching the sky fade from orange to navy, and there were loud, joy-filled ones with music, movement, and laughter echoing off the terrace. Dinner felt like one big party, with Margo and Ryan’s son joining in for the wedding festivities.
Chesapeake Bay Beach Club is a venue that feels alive, constantly changing with the light and weather, and you get the sense that everyone’s breathing a little easier because they’re surrounded by water and good people. It was a day that felt grounded, joyful, and full of life, enhanced by the unique blend of sophistication and natural beauty that Eastern Shore weddings offer.
Margo and Ryan, thank you for letting me be part of your story. Your wedding was filled with intention, laughter, and connection, everything that makes this work so meaningful.
If you’re planning a wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club or anywhere along Maryland’s Eastern Shore, take a cue from these two: choose a space that feels like you, fill it with your favorite people, and let the rest unfold.
