Nicole and Sean’s Wedding

Nicole and Sean’s garden-inspired wedding at Terrain at Devon Yard was an absolutely joyful and intimate celebration that was everything I love about micro weddings. It was a chance to spend the most important moments with the people who mean the most to you.

From the intentional touches to the tender, quiet moments, everything felt like an extension of their love story and who they are together. Their relationship has always been centered around celebrating the small joys, and their wedding day was no different.

From First Date to Forever

The couple met on Hinge in September of 2022. After chatting online for a week, they met up in downtown West Chester for dinner and drinks and felt an immediate spark.

That night kicked off a year full of what they affectionately called their date catalog, where they gave each outing a number and a name. From happy hours to home-cooked meals to walks with the dogs, they collected 156 dates in their first year together, documenting every experience from the quiet to the milestone.

A few standout dates included meeting each other’s families and making their relationship official. Every single one became a marker in their love story. One year after that first date, Sean proposed to Nicole during a sunrise hike at Lake Moraine in Banff, Canada. It was an unforgettable moment that felt straight out of a storybook. Naturally, they chose a September wedding to keep that magic going.

The Setting at Terrain at Devon Yard

Terrain at Devon Yard was the perfect setting for Nicole and Sean to begin this new chapter. Nestled in the heart of Devon, Pennsylvania, this venue is known for its garden-to-table approach and stunning natural backdrops.

It blends organic design with elevated aesthetics, offering lush gardens, modern rustic architecture, and thoughtfully curated spaces for both indoor and outdoor celebrations. From the open-air nursery courtyard to the greenhouse reception space, the venue brought a beautiful sense of calm and earthy romance to the day. You could feel the connection between the couple and the setting. It wasn’t just a backdrop; it felt like it was part of the story.

Intentional Wedding Day Details

Their wedding vision came to life through rich, sentimental details and a deeply personal atmosphere. The couple chose a classic, elegant and cool white and green color palette that complemented the timeless feeling of the day.  Nicole planned a powerful tribute to her late father, including a reserved seat in his honor and a locket photo tied to her bouquet.

There was also a beautiful ring-warming ceremony, during which their wedding bands were passed hand to hand among their guests. Everyone took a moment to offer a silent blessing before the rings returned to Nicole and Sean for their vows. It was such a moving moment that it brought a deep sense of unity and love into the ceremony.

Staying Present Together

Throughout the day, Nicole and Sean remained incredibly present with one another. That was one of their biggest goals: to soak in the experience together.

They had heard from friends how easy it is to get pulled in different directions on a wedding day, and they were determined to stay connected. That intention shaped every part of the day, from the way they structured their timeline to their choice to attend their own cocktail hour and spend time on the dance floor with their favorite people. It was clear that they weren’t just celebrating their marriage, they were fully living it.
