Valley Forge National Historic Park | Spring Engagement Session

Valley Forge Park Engagement Session

VALLEY FORGE NATIONAL PARK ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS | PENNSYLVANIA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | ENGAGEMENT PHOTO LOCATIONS IN PENNSYLVANIA

I met Catherine through another couple of mine, when she was the Maid of Honor in their wedding. I absolutely love working with clients that are recommended by my past couples! The day after their friend’s wedding, Catherine, Colin and I met up again to catch this gorgeous sunset engagement session at Valley Forge National Historic Park, and I’m so in love with how the photos turned out!

I absolutely adore when my couples use their engagement session as a date night, and Catherine and Colin did just that! We started out the evening with a stroll along the river in the beautiful golden hour light. They looked so incredible in their formal outfits, and they even brought a beautiful bouquet which added such a lovely touch to the photos! They spent their time laughing and snuggling and I got to learn about their relationship as we walked through the woods to our next spot.

When we got to the open field, Colin laid out a blanket and they took a quiet moment to share a glass of wine. Although their cats couldn’t attend the photo session in-person, they brought this gorgeous cat-shaped bottle of Moselland wine as a tribute to their fur babies. We chatted about their wedding plans and really soaked in the moment as the sun began to sink behind the trees.

Bringing Props to Your Engagement Session

Colin and Catherine met while playing on a soccer team together, so one of the items they knew they wanted to incorporate into their engagement session was a soccer ball. Using props like this is a great way to personalize your engagement photos and make sure they authentically reflect your relationship! A soccer ball was also a great prop choice because it added some extra movement to the photos. My favorite way to prevent looking and feeling stiff in front of the camera is to add movement! I always guide my couples in movement prompts such as walking or dancing, but having Colin and Catherine kick the soccer ball in the field was a great way to mix it up! Catherine and Colin — thank you so much for spending this beautiful evening with me at Valley Forge and I hope you love your photos as much as I do!
